I love art history, books, magazines, geology, chemistry, thunderstorms, and handmade projects. I'm forever fascinated with the contrast between nature and our manufactured environment.
My images are shaped around the natural dynamics of real life with an emphasis on color and texture.

The entire creative process inspires me. I love the art work that goes on behind the scenes: thumbnail sketches, priming and painting backgrounds, experimenting with 30 different ways to shape lemon zest garnishes… So much wonder happens along the way to a picture.
I THINK…

HOW
my story
BEGAN
After attending the School of Visual Arts, I garnered over 15 years of experience as a photography professional in various capacities, from gofer to photo editor, stylist to photographer, and so on, beginning with editorial environmental portraiture and music photojournalism.
While shooting assignments on legends like Merle Haggard, James Brown, and George Clinton, interspersed with popular millennial favorites like Duncan Sheik, Tonic, and Train (see my secret gallery here), I developed my attention to details that gave my photo essays dimension and a quality of genuine human interest.
My core storytelling value is centered on building
context to shape visual narratives with intention.
After discovering a fascination with recipes and restaurants 10 years ago, I made a pivot into studio photography to grow food stories from scratch. I maintain that narrative point of view while also drawing from my background in graphic design and art history to make pictures stemming from emotional connections and originality.
